EVENTS SPECIALIST

The Events Specialist at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE) plays a crucial role in driving sales growth and brand loyalty for our Oregon Brands, which include A to Z Wineworks, Erath, and REX HILL. By delivering a comprehensive events program, the specialist creates innovative and luxurious brand experiences that captivate both consumers and trade guests alike. The ideal candidate for this position should be exceptionally organized and possess strong communication and project management skills, ensuring effective collaboration both internally and externally to bring strategic event plans to fruition. We are in search of a dedicated individual who is committed to orchestrating high-quality events and can tackle challenges with a creative approach to problem-solving.

Job Responsibilities:

• Under the guidance of Management, develop an understanding of, and demonstrate ability to execute approach to achieve defined strategic, profit-driven event plans for the Oregon brands of Ste. Michelle Wine Estates.
• Oversee all facets of event coordination, ensuring an exemplary level of hospitality and customer service for all event functions, including Private events, Club events, Retail events, and Trade events.
• Work onsite across locations based on scheduling needs and the necessity to collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside the department.
• Oversee pre-event interaction with potential clients, including site visits, estimates, proposals and contracts.
• Ensure successful event execution through design and oversight of the event environment, décor, service items, equipment and rentals.
• Provide event overview and all needed training to event staff to ensure successful and consistent delivery of event plans.
• Process and maintain all event-related paperwork, including fee deposits, invoices, entertainment/vendor contracts, menus, promotion material, planning documents, and all necessary permits.
• Convey brand story to visitors and staff in an enjoyable, informative & professional manner.

 Position Requirements:

• 3 years of relevant work experience in event planning in hospitality, restaurants, or private events.
• Demonstrated professional experience in event sales and/or project management.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 45 pounds and be able to stand for prolonged time periods.
• Proficient with a PC, with emphasis on skills in Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Excel and Teams.
• Experience with Point of Sale software preferred.
• Ability to meet flexible schedule requirements for night and weekend events.
• Minimum of 21 years of age, with a valid Oregon driver’s license and driving record that meets company insurability standards.

 Your Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $24 - $27 per hour incentives, tips and commissions
