**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Improvement Specialist to join our team in Shelby, North Carolina. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leader in the industry of specialty vehicles and contribute to the growth and success of our company.
**About the Role**
The Manufacturing Process Improvement Specialist will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes in our plant. This includes developing best practices, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods for assembly, fabrication, and cutting departments. The successful candidate will also develop weld and assembly jigs and fixturing, as well as estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity
- Analyze and optimize manufacturing workflows to reduce lead times and costs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address manufacturing-related issues
- Develop and maintain multi-level bill of materials and communicate changes using the Manufacturing Change Order Process
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5-7 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical data packages, schematics, and drawings
- Proven mechanical abilities, knowledge of various electrical and mechanical processes, assembly techniques, and hand tool use
- Basic data entry skills, required; Microsoft Office; drafting skills (preferably computer aided)
