Job Summary
The Logistics Product Support Specialist will design and analyze operational solutions for projects such as maintenance optimization, life-cycle support modeling, and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). The role involves reviewing contractual commitments, customer specifications, and logistics processes to determine requirements. It also includes managing the configuration management and workflow for CDRL submissions, proposing logistics solutions, and developing logistic metrics.
Main Responsibilities
- Review contractual commitments, customer specifications, or related information to determine logistics or support requirements.
- Analyze logistics processes, delegate task requirements, and oversee performance of 3PL subcontractors.
- Determine logistics support requirements, facilitate service and maintenance plans, and manage CDRL submissions.
- Propose logistics solutions based on front-end analysis and customer requirements, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
- Provide logistics technology or information for effective and efficient life-cycle support of products, equipment, or systems.
- Develop logistic metrics, internal analysis tools, or key performance indicators for business development or project financial status.
- Conduct logistics analysis and studies, observe system maintenance, and research technical specifications.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Participate in cross-functional teams and work groups.
- Process data by compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
- Keep up-to-date technically and apply new technologies to the job.
- Provide documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to support interpretation of how products work.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversight of IPS team members in daily assigned tasks, including research and analysis of technical data.
- Ensure productivity, quality, and accuracy of assigned work.
- Provide performance feedback and participate in proposal teams providing technical summaries and cost estimations.
Experience and Qualifications
This role requires 15 years of managerial experience, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in Integrated Logistics/Product Support and database management. An associate degree in business and/or Technical/Professional Writing is preferred. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills, quality orientation, and attention to detail.
Work Environment
The work environment is typical of an office setting, with moderate noise levels due to computer equipment and environmental control systems. Access to operations and manufacturing areas may involve exposure to loud noises, dust, fumes, oils, and fluctuations in temperature. Travel may be required to customer locations, including Government facilities, which may require special screening.
