Overall Summary
This position is responsible to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Supports and coordinate Design for Manufacturability for new and existing products. Provide leadership and expertise in design for welding, design of welding and assembly fixtures for large systems Familiar with codes, specifications, standards and other aspects of welding, fabrication and assembly.
Primary and Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees the analysis and design of lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and tools to optimize the use of space, equipment, material, and personnel.
- Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of processes and related equipment.
- Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Develops work aids and/or documentation for products to train assembly personnel.
- Confers with supply chain and engineering staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods and quality results.
- Designs, develops, tests, sources, and cost-justifies various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for the purchase of machinery and equipment according to specifications and quality standards.
- Applies statistical methods and performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
- Represents manufacturing and/or engineering on cross-functional teams.
- Supports, communicates, reinforces, and defends the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
- Adheres to all quality and safety standards.
- Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned.

Years Experience
Minimum 5 years related experience including, but not limited to, technical skills in manufacturing processes with a special focus on welding and fabrication of large systems.
Level of Education
Bachelors degree in Engineering. CWI/CW Eng Certifications preferred

Experience / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Must be able to read, speak, and understand English.
- Experience in fabrication and welding of large systems.
- NPI experience is preferred.
- Robotic welding experience is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs; CNC programming experience desired.
- Strong knowledge of written product specifications.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple products through the manufacturing process.
- Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Possesses quality orientation and high attention to detail.
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees, and managers at all levels within the company.
- Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Experience in ERP systems; SAP experience is desired.
