Assistant Directors play a very important role in helping develop the staff, site, and children by fostering a welcoming environment where all can thrive. This postion is a ministry role, the ideal candidate would have a passion for early childhood education, knowledge of developmental best practices and the ability to grow and nurture relationships with children and adults by sharing the love of Jesus.
Qualifications
Able to focus and think quickly with emergencies that may arise
CDA, Associate’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
Complete 24 hours of continuing education every year as required by NAEYC and Paths to Quality
Experience working in a childcare center
- Have an understanding of PTQ
Responsibilities
The Assistant Director also must be kind, patient, loving, and most of all love children
This position leads with strong leadership, able to manage a diverse group of children and employees, an effective communicator when dealing with staff, parents, and children
Helping manage staff when the director is not on site
Assist with training in the classroom and onboarding new hires
Interviewing potential daycare teachers
Ensuring staff communicates any concerns directly to admin staff
Ensuring staff is following state guidelines and practices
Being available to listen to parents and handle conflicts or issues
Manage staff files and recertification dates
Take payments and write receipts- this includes enrollment and vouchers
Assist with managing information from the App Procare
Assist in classrooms when needed to relieve teachers for bathroom breaks, lunches, and to sometimes serve as a substitute if needed
Lead a life group with team members
Help develop faith based lesson using our curriculum
Assist in Conflict resolution with staff members
Constantly monitoring staff/child ratios
Ensuring safety of the children at all times
Able to be adaptable and flexible with scheduling and policies
Staying calm in emergency situations and have an understanding of how to navigate and manage challenging bahaviors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $23.00 per hour
