What are the responsibilities and job description for the Department Administrator - Skillbridge Intern position at Steampunk?
Overview
Steampunk is seeking a Department Administrator to join our Security team in our Tysons Corner, Virginia office. This role will report to the Facility Security Officer and will support Steampunk’s Security department. Your primary responsible will be to manage the administrative functions associated with the Security department . Additionally, you may also support the Facility Security Officer with the management of Steampunk’s industrial security program, in accordance with the National Industrial Security Manual (NISPOM). You must be a self-motivated, well-organized individual with a clear and concise communication style. You must have the ability and desire to develop and maintain successful working relationships with Steampunk employees, government customers, and their personnel security offices. This position will work in the Washington DC metropolitan area during core business hours.
Contributions
Contributions may include:
- Secure and maintain personnel security records;
- Assume ownership of foreign travel reports, including IT Authorization requests, debriefs and reporting in DISS;
- Assess pre-employment background checks;
- Conduct pre-employment security screening interviews.
- Must be a Skillbridge Intern and transitioning military personnel
Additional contributions may include:
- Serve as a secondary point of contact for candidates and employees for day-to-day questions;
- Coordinate fingerprint appointments for employees and candidates;
- Develop written process documents for security functions;
- Support compliance with security requirements and implementation of new security requirements in accordance with the NISPOM;
- Review and maintain personnel security clearances;
- Initiate initial investigations and CV Updates;
- Debrief terminated cleared personnel;
- Assist in conducting security education and training programs; and
- Support EOD processing.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret security clearance from the DoD. The candidate must be capable of coordinating security activities, and ensuring compliance with government and company security processes, policies, and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree or a High School diploma with relevant experience;
- Past experience in the office management or executive administrator/assistant field;
- Highly organized;
- Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines;
- Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently;
- Self-starter with ability to work independently, customer service oriented;
- Commitment to security - creating and delivering the highest value to internal and external customers;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite – specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
