Job Overview
The Construction Bid Specialist plays a crucial role in generating new business for the company by creating skilled and competitive bid packages. This position requires preparing and assisting in preparing proposals for design-build, GMP, conceptual, and competitive hard bid projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interprets and evaluates construction documents, plans, specifications, engineering reports, and contracts to generate accurate construction costs estimates and proposals.
- Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and all company staff members to encourage teamwork.
- Represents company image with a professional attitude, demeanor, presentation, appearance, and commitment to quality.
- Attends and participates in pre-bid, pre-construction and sales presentations.
- Generates Scope Sheets for each division within a project and ensures accurate, complete coverage.
Requirements
To be successful as a Construction Bid Specialist, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of construction industry experience (in the office or field) with a preference of at least one year of estimating experience.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or construction engineering is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
