The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia is expanding and adding a position for a Staff Accountant. As we continue to grow, we have a need for a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for posting journal entries, processing payroll, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and other duties throughout the month and month close as identified by the Accounting Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your accounting skills working with a strong team in a thriving manufacturing company.
Responsibilities
- Writing, proposing, and posting journal entries.
- Reconciling general and subledger accounts by gathering and balancing information.
- Provide operational, sales, and financial reports using both the ERP system and resources from inside the organization.
- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures in addition to complying with federal, state, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Work intra-departmentally to help in analysis of actual results vs. plan.
- Support various payroll and accounting functions, as needed.
- Special projects and additional duties as assigned.
- Process payroll.
Qualifications
Requirements
- At least a 4-year degree in accounting or finance.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
- Dedication to minor details and ensuring accuracy of all work products.
- Exceptional and proven verbal and written communication skills, with all levels of management.
- Experience with ERP or accounting software preferred but not required.
