What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager In Training position at Steel & Metal Systems?
Steel & Metal Systems Inc. (SAMS) is looking for a Project Manager (or Project Manager in Training). The Project Manager-In-Training will be responsible for helping in managing metal storage building construction projects through completion, which includes but is not limited to managing installation labor for materials provided by SAMS, managing material delivery to job sites, managing and controlling costs of materials & labor provided by SAMS, keeping the jobs on schedule and within budget, handling issues, and properly communicating with all parties involved. This job is mainly performed at the Blackshear GA office for construction jobs in multiple states and requires occasional travel to job sites (less than 2 times average per month). This is not a remote or online job.
This position requires basic construction knowledge and the ability to read and understand blueprints. Math and computer skills are very important, as well as a strong problem-solving ability and a keen attention to detail. Performing construction "take-offs" or cut lists from blueprints is a plus. This person must possess strong project management skills, the ability to aggressively follow-up with all aspects of the job, and the ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
