What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Fulfillment Consultant position at Steelcase?

We are hiring an Order Fulfillment Consultant to partner with our Dealers, Field Sales!

What you will be doing:

Primary business consultant between Steelcase NA, Dealers and Field Sales proactively coaching and managing dealer activities prior to order being created and placed with Steelcase. Understands the Steelcase order fulfillment value stream, and optimizes supply chain, manufacturing, and delivery efficiencies, resulting in a great customer experience. Possesses good communication skills to effectively modify dealer behavior to conform to the Accelerate order management model. Aware of and supports Lean and continuous improvement methodologies. Understands the health and wellbeing of the dealership through performance measures and plays the role of the dealer advocate to quality and manufacturing management for awareness and drives process improvement.

Who you are:

Required skills and Competencies
  • Requires ability to understand and communicate complex technology, both in writing and verbally.
  • Thorough knowledge of corporate order fulfillment procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Steelcase dealer organization and the design community and how their needs and processes impact our customer relationships.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate policies and procedures.
  • Must have broad product knowledge and be able to exercise good judgement on policy, timing and problem solving.
  • Persuasive communication is a must; able to converse and offer suggestions, information and alternatives to customers needs.
  • Able to effectively make formal presentations to dealers, designers and customers as needed
Preferred Skills and Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree (business) or equivalent or 3-5 years in progressively more responsible positions (ideally in a service area)
