We are a supportive academic environment for students transitioning from middle school to high school and beyond.

Cougar XL Academic Support is provided for targeted 9th-12th graders through a blended learning environment, working with education support specialists who will provide academic guidance and mentoring within the school day.

Our education support specialists assist students in all subject areas in a one-on-one or small group setting, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Salary Schedule

Our education support specialist salary schedule offers the following increments based on longevity:

• Year 1: $20/hour
• Year 2: $20.85/hour
• Year 3: $21.70/hour
• Year 4: $22.55/hour

Job Description

As an education support specialist, you will work collaboratively with our CXL Team to teach both academic and life success skills, such as social and emotional awareness, organizational efficiency, and study skills.

You will cultivate consistent, caring, and developmentally supportive relationships with students in a safe learning environment void of judgment and bias.

In this role, you will also support students individually and collectively to become self-directed learners, which is an essential element of this position.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You should have knowledge of all subjects and teaching techniques, with bilingualism being a plus.

A career in teaching, counseling, or social work would be beneficial for this position.

Benefits

This part-time position offers flexible hours, no more than 28 hours per week, with specific schedules for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Wednesday.

The ideal candidate will be able to attend staff meetings periodically and commit to an additional interview and clearance process.
