Position Title: Administrative Assistant
Job Type: Full Time, On-Site
Job Location: VHA Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP), 2962 S Longhorn Dr, Lancaster, TX 75146
Shift Schedules: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm or 3:00pm-11:30pm (Central Time)

Position Overview:

SteerBridge seeks dedicated, detail-oriented Administrative Assistants to support the VHA Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) in Lancaster, TX. Ideal candidates possess strong organizational and time management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, have the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in administrative support roles
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must be able to type a minimum 45 words per minute
  • Must be able to understand how to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product
  • Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with office management systems and procedures
  • Must read, understand, speak, and write English fluently

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare reports, memos, letters, and other documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software
  • File and retrieve corporate documents, records, and reports
  • Greet visitors and determine whether they should be given access to specific individuals
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for supervisors and managers
  • Prepare agendas and make arrangements for committee, board, and other meetings
  • Record, transcribe and distribute minutes of meetings
  • Conduct research, compile data, and prepare papers for consideration and presentation by executives, committees, and boards of directors
  • Attend meetings to record minutes
  • Manage and maintain executives' schedules
  • Make travel arrangements for staff members
  • Conduct general office duties such as ordering supplies, maintaining records management database systems, and performing basic bookkeeping work
  • Provide information to callers about organization's activities, products, and personnel
  • Operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and phone systems, and use computers for spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and other applications
All candidates must be able to:
  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force

Compensation

A salary commensurate with background and experience will be offered. SteerBridge salaries depend on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to the contract budget, role, skill set and level of experience.
