Position: Data Scientist

Mode of Work: Remote or Hybrid (Hybrid: Candidates local to the SteerBridge HQ will be expected to work from the office a minimum of three (3) days a week.)

REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, or Biology.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
•  An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
• AWS Foundations certification or ability to obtain one.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand requirements and translate those requirements into data science solutions.
• Provide guidance on best practices and industry standards across data science and analytics, data visualization, and share expertise to improve technical capabilities of the team.
• Design, develop, and integrate templates, data, and models for repeatability.
• Develop and implement data quality assurance and management protocols.
• Create, maintain, and organize technical documentation for all data collection, cleaning, and analyses.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Strong expertise in Data Science, including scientific methods, advanced statistics, coding, comprehensive write-ups, handling unbalanced classes, setting thresholds, and evaluating performance metrics.
•  Must have experience in predictive maintenance (Aviation Preferred)
•  Proficiency in programming with Python, R, or Mathematica, with a focus on writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
•  Experience working with REST APIs to integrate and manage data seamlessly.
•  SQL experience, particularly in crafting SELECT statements and performing complex joins.
• Data visualization capabilities using either libraries from Python or R libraries, or tools such as PowerBI or Tableau to present insights effectively.
•  Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex. concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• In-depth understanding of experimentation theory and hands-on experience designing and analyzing experiments to drive data-driven decisions.
