JOB TITLE: Senior Staff Accountant
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time, Exempt
LOCATION (Hybrid): Stego Home Office in San Clemente, CA (flexibility to work remotely at the discretion of employee’s manager) | Must be located within commuting distance to San Clemente CA; Role will travel to the office 1X a month on average, but certain times may require increased in office coverage.
HOURS & TIME ZONE: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm Pacific Time
PAY RANGE: Reasonably expected to be $70,000 - $80,000 annually based on experience, education, and location.

ROLE PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Senior Staff Accountant role is to is to support Stego’s management and nationwide personnel through the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, managing and overseeing direct reports and assisting achieving the Department’s goals and objectives, in contribution to the achievement of the Company’s goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES):
Goals & Objectives:
- Collaborate with the Senior Accounting Manager, in consultation with direct reports, to identify individual and Department goals and objectives and develop and implement strategic plans for achievement
- Ensure internal cross-collaboration and utilization of Company resources to achieve shared objectives
Accounting Responsibilities:
- Utilize firm understanding of comprehensive accounting principles to guide and assist two direct reports in the achievement of Department goals and objectives through effective processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and strategy implementation
- Ensure data-driven post-analysis of achievements and opportunities for growth using KPIs/BI tools
- Manage direct reports, providing constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Organize, facilitate, and conduct regular meetings with each direct report
- Manage cash flow and real time updates of cash
- Prepare GL entries by maintaining records and reconciling various accounts
- Ability to refresh process and/or create new process, and document and execute clearly
- Manage timely completion of month end
- Prepare yearly 1099’s
- Prepare reports as requested
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Support day-to-day accounting functions as assigned by Senior Accounting Manager

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required)
- 3-5 years of full cycle accounting experience
- 2 years of management experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Accounting ERP experience is a plus
- Salesforce experience is a plus
- Inventory and cost of goods sold knowledge is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to communicate frequently on a daily basis by phone or video conference
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards and remain in a stationary position to work on a computer for prolonged periods
- Physical ability to travel to attend team, company, and industry meetings and events
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in an office environment
TRAVEL REQUIRED:
- Ability to travel to and attend quarterly team meetings and events including nights and overnight stays (approximately 5-10% of the time)
