- OBJECTIVE / GENERAL DESCRIPTION
- Manage overall operations (Delivery, Warehouse, and Fleet) with responsibility for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures as established and set for Stein Distributing. The experienced operations manager will ensure safe and efficient operations. Serve as a company representative on regulatory issues. Enhance the operational procedure, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting, and look for opportunities to expand systems. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company's policies and applicable laws.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to Delivery, Warehouse, and Fleet managers and supervisors.
- Provide overall management of delivery and warehouse workforce to ensure successful delivery of product to market and provide best in class delivery service to our retailer customers.
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining of staff in departments that this position oversees.
- Address external and internal issues in a timely fashion and act as operations representative in the warehouse and in the market.
- Work directly with Sales team to optimize route to market processes that help meet Sales objectives while minimizing operational cost.
- Implement recruiting, staffing and retention strategies that support business objectives.
- Motivating and inspiring team members, both on an individual and team level, with regards of achievement of corporate, business, and personal goals.
- Lead by example and instill within the staff to follow all company guidelines, policies, procedures, and practices.
- Assist in training and coaching team members to consistently develop and maintain company policies and procedures.
- Work closely with Team leaders, department supervisors and department managers to ensure that overall objectives are met.
- Overall knowledge of the companys multiple organizations, departments, and operation function.
- Motivated and action-oriented individual with strong decision-making skills.
- Maintain continuous interaction, engagement, and open channels of communication with customers and employees in a courteous and professional manner.
- Provide support and information to Senior management team on all labor relations and employee related issues.
- Work closely with the inventory manager and team to perform analysis of our inventory and ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively, purchasing the right equipment, maintaining solid inventory data, and reduce sub-rental expenses
III. SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Familiarity with A-B delivery and warehouse logistics tools (VIP, Karma, Roadnet, Paycom and Fleet Loader) preferred
- Demonstrated strengths leadership, planning, communication, complex problem-solving and ability to influence.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results that exceed expectations
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience/Requirements:
- 5 7 years of experience in supervision and or management, particularly with an AB wholesaler.
- Strong Computer skills (Excel, Word, Acrobat Reader, XP Office).
- Must have a current Class A CDL and medical card with clean driving record.
- Must be forklift and walkie certified.
- Good Organizational & Muti-tasking skills.
- Prepare and edit business correspondence including VIP inventory and picking reports.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Have good attendance and performance record.
- Have professional appearance and demeanor.
