Job Description
Overview:
A key contributor to our warehouse operations at Carlson AirFlo provides leadership, direction, and support for the company's sourcing and purchasing function, production assembly function, and warehouse operations function to meet company objectives and customer requirements.
Major Responsibilities
Sourcing and Purchasing (50%)
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to the Purchasing Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations, strategy, and execution of the business.
- Sourcing of domestic and international supplier partners as it relates to new products and capabilities.
- Import material declarations, U.S. Customs interactions, and other legal activities involving U.S. Customs and contract manufacturers.
- Identification and evaluation of potential suppliers worldwide, considering factors like cost, quality, capacity, and compliance.
- Development and implementation of comprehensive global sourcing strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, legal regulations, and ethical sourcing practices with supply partners domestic and abroad.
- Proactive management of Asian-based international supplier risks related to quality, delivery, regulatory compliance, and sustainability.
- Negotiating cost reductions, best cost practices, staffing, and operating of day-to-day activities in the Purchasing area.
- Inventory management and establishing strategies to meet short- and long-term business goals and objectives.
Production and Warehouse (30%)
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to the Production Scheduler and Warehouse Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day operations as well as execution of strategy to meet established goals and objectives.
- Safety, quality, efficiency expectations, and ensure leadership is soliciting team member feedback enabling an empowered, continuous improvement culture for all aspects of the facility.
- Inventory control initiatives on a daily, weekly, and period-end cycle.
- Direct and support initiatives to drive continuous capacity, efficiency, and quality improvements.
- Execute Plant data collection, Key Process Indicators (KPI) reporting, and weekly Scorecard participation.
Administrative (20%)
- Create and manage departmental budgets, incorporating all areas of expenditures as well as an oversight of the annual scorecard planning process.
- Oversee and manage staffing and training and development initiatives for Purchasing personnel and the Production and Warehouse personnel.
- Oversee and manage the performance and salary review process for all Purchasing personnel in addition to the Production and Warehouse personnel.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- BA/BS in Business Administration or Supply Chain/Manufacturing related discipline.
- 5 or more years of experience in a senior management role.
- 5 – 7 or more years of experience in International Sourcing, Purchasing, and Supply Chain.
- 5 – 7 or more years of experience in Manufacturing environments.
- Experience in international sourcing while adhering to company policies, international and U.S. Customs regulations is required.
- Prior experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processes, and principles. Specifically strong in ERP system operations.
- Strong negotiator.
- Effective in Project Management.
- Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to supervise, lead, and coach staff.
- Able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Prior experience and proficiency with MRP/ERP programs. Microsoft D365 or AX preferred.
