Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in managing civil litigation cases, including organizing files, calendaring deadlines, tracking case progress, and preparing for trial (e.g., organizing exhibits, preparing witness lists, coordinating trial logistics)
- Conduct legal research to gather relevant case law, statutes, regulations, and other legal resources to support case strategy and preparation
- Draft, review, and prepare various legal documents (e.g., petitions, pleadings, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas)
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, answering phone calls, directing callers, and relaying messages
- Ensure all case documents are properly filed and maintained in both electronic and paper formats
- Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field. Paralegal certification from an accredited institution is preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department
- Skills:
- Legal Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures, legal terminology, and court rules
- Research Skills: Proficiency with legal research tools and databases
- Writing Skills: Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents
