SUMMARY:
We seek a highly skilled, dynamic, team-oriented, compassionate On-Call Medical Doctor or Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated team. In this role, the ideal candidate will provide critical oversight and support for the clinical operations of our Ambulatory Surgery Center. The provider will ensure the availability of immediate medical expertise for patient care, address urgent medical concerns, and assist with clinical decision-making during the postoperative period. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
· Provide on-call medical support for urgent and emergent needs during Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) operational hours for overnight (23-hour) stay patients.
· Address medical concerns of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, or other team members.
· Respond promptly to post-operative complications.
· Oversee patient care in coordination with the surgical team, ensuring adherence to established medical protocols.
· Conduct patient assessments as needed for urgent or emergent situations.
· Order and interpret medical tests, interventions, or medications as required for routine, urgent, or emergent cases.
· Prescribe medications as necessary for the management of urgent and emergent conditions.
· Communicate any changes in medical status or modifications to the post-operative plan to the surgical team.
· Ensure compliance with all ASC policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
· Participate in quality assurance processes, documenting incidents or significant events during on-call coverage.
· Support the ASC team in maintaining a safe, efficient, high-quality surgical care environment.
· Assess patients and facilitate hospital transfers when a higher level of care is required.
· Participate in post-surgical hand-offs, ensuring smooth transitions from the surgical team to post-recovery and discharge teams.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
· This full-time position has standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, work hours may vary based on company needs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Primarily on-call with occasional in-person patient assessments at the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
- Must remain accessible by phone or other communication devices during scheduled on-call hours.
- Role may require immediate travel to the ASC for critical situations.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Doctor of Medicine degree (MD/DO) from an accredited program.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGNP, or other relevant specialization).
- MD or DO with training in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.
- Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g. Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Experience: Prior experience in hospital, surgical, emergency, or ambulatory care settings. Strong ability to manage emergent medical situations.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient education skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership abilities. Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
