Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Conduct budgeting and forecasting to support financial planning activities.
- Perform accrual accounting to accurately reflect the company's financial position.
- Ensure compliance with securities law and governmental accounting standards.
- Utilize accounting software such as for efficient record-keeping and reporting.
- Execute double entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support business decisions.
Daily/Weekly Tasks
- Coordinate bank runs for deposits and bill/coin changes.
- Post deposits with journal entries and party deposits.
- Oversee the scanning of all incoming mail.
- Review scanned documents, posting, filing, and uploading as necessary (employee documents, Hartford statements, loan statements, etc.).
- Manage the "bookkeeping" email account.
- Forward payments and address vendor and employee issues.
- Manage event deposits
- Clean up invoices to ensure they are processed efficiently.
- Sync and monitor sales entry changes and verify product details.
- Map invoices and review any that are rejected.
- Process payments for vendors via check, online payment, or ACH.
- Assist in accounts payable cleanup, ensuring accuracy and preventing duplicates.
- Manage garnishment and lien orders within the system.
- Handle workers' compensation audits, IRA reporting, and tax reporting.
- Post vendor payments, review payroll journal entries, and assist with onboarding and terminations.
- Provide support to Owners and Managers and assist with any related tasks.
Monthly Responsibilities
- Calculate and process sales tax payments.
- Reconcile various bank accounts and credit cards, addressing duplicate transactions
- Manually reconcile unconnected accounts.
- Loan Reconciliations
- Review financial records for posting errors and discrepancies.
Accounting Duties
- Supervise Payroll Processing
- Post bills and transactions as needed.
- Reconcile bank accounts and manage cash flow effectively.
- Monitor renovation projects
- Pay bills from the appropriate entity and ensure accurate reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting or administrative roles.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Proficiency in accounting software
- Strong knowledge of securities law and governmental accounting practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with accrual accounting principles and budgeting processes is required.
- Excellent understanding of double entry bookkeeping techniques.
- Experience in tax preparation and compliance is a plus.
