Description
Responsibilities:
- Work and support all material handling responsibilities for the assigned department as described below.
- Use handheld scanners to perform and resolve material transactions in real time
- Execute cycle counts based on the Cycle Count Program and upon ad hoc request
- Perform Inventory Discrepancy Investigations as needed using Microsoft D365.
- Assist in year-end physical inventory count preparation and execution
- Train & Enforce procedures
- Audit workers to ensure the use of handheld scanners to perform and resolve material transactions in real time
- Manage shift change pass-downs to ensure changes and communications flow to subsequent shifts.
- Assist the Department Supervisor in coordinating weekend, holiday, and/or overtime coverage
- Escalate non-adherence to procedures and other critical situations to the Inventory Control Supervisor or Manager.
- Follow and lead by example in dock, facility, and personnel safety rules
- Adhere to quality, food safety, and facility cleanliness expectations
- Support other parallel teams when needed.
- Ensure accurate reporting of consumption and Finished goods.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate must be detail oriented and a self-starter with the ability to work independently for extended periods of time
- Capable of working individually as well as in a team environment
- Demonstrates proactive behavior to prevent problems from occurring
- Knowledge and experience working with and implementing inventory best practices
- Previous material handling & forklift experience
- Previous experience in working with Inventory and ERP system(s)
- Ability to solve problems and provide direction to Inventory Specialists & Material Handlers
- Required standing and walking during work shift.
- Use of powered industrial equipment/lift truck; stand-up reach truck, sit down forklift and electric walkie to move materials throughout department & plant
- Ability to work in a zero degree freezer for 4-8 hours of the work day and exposure to cold temperatures on dock daily
- Above average communication skills to support pass-downs between shifts
- Use of hands for simple/firm grasping. Performs continuous repetitive hand motion.
- Frequent bending and stooping and reaching below waist and above shoulder level.
- Frequent lifting and carrying product from 5 pounds up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional kneeling/pushing/pulling.
- Proper use and donning of Personal Protective Equipment as required.
- Work hours and overtime as required; this may include work on weekends. Hours are subject to change.
- Other duties as assigned by Inventory Control Supervisor or Manager.
