We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Learning and Development Manager to design, implement, and manage effective learning initiatives that enhance employee skills for our manufacturing operations. This role will report to the HR Director of Operations. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in creating training matrices, identifying skill gaps, and aligning training programs with manufacturing goals to foster a culture of continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement the manufacturing organization’s learning and development strategy in alignment with the operations objectives.
- Training Matrix Management: Create, maintain, and optimize comprehensive training matrices to map required skills across roles, departments, and career levels withing the manufacturing organization. Regularly review and update matrices to reflect organizational changes, new technologies, and emerging industry trends.
- Program Design and Delivery: Design and deliver training programs tailored to specific manufacturing roles, including workshops, e-learning, on-the-job training, and leadership development initiatives. Source or create learning content that addresses technical, soft skills, and compliance requirements.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and implement tools to measure training effectiveness and return on investment (ROI). Use data and feedback to refine programs and ensure continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing department managers to align learning initiatives with team objectives and career development pathways. Partner with external training providers, as needed, to deliver specialized programs.
- Technology and Innovation: Leverage learning management systems (LMS) to track employee participation, progress, and performance. Stay updated on L&D trends, tools, and technologies to integrate innovative solutions into training initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience (5 years) in training and development within the food manufacturing or related industry, with a focus on training matrix development and management.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and e-learning platforms.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset with experience in measuring training effectiveness and using data for decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in using LMS platforms and other training tools.
- Degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
- Bilingual, English and Spanish preferred.
