JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
As a member of the technical staff, the Structural Engineer is responsible for the design of modular TIAC (Turbine Inlet Air Cooling) Plant, CHP, Mission Critical and District Cooling Plant up to full production. This includes review and compliance with structural codes, perform structural analysis and pricing support; coordinate with Structural Designers and Detailers to generate and oversee fabrication drawings, preparing detailed plans and specifications, and support module production (including site / shop inspections) reviews; This engineer will also be responsible for technical support of all products currently in production.
Essential Functions
1. Undertake engineering and design work independently, following management directives.
2. Accomplish tasks adhering to Stellar Energy Americas' procedures, specifications, standards and any project-specific requirements.
3. Review, examine, measure, comprehend the structural 3D model of a project-specific design and constantly evaluate interaction of the structural 3D model with other disciplines
4. Write manufacturing and fabrication procedures and reports.
5. Participate in project teams and all activities related to the production and development of modular plants.
6. Provide technical support to sales and marketing for bids and proposals, such as layouts, material estimates and specification reviews.
7. Prepare and / or review structural specifications and necessary controlled documents based on project execution plans prior to commencement of any engineering or design activities.
8. Prepare design deliverables, including calculations, specifications, schedules, layouts and BoMs to enable procurement, supply, fabrication, installation and construction to take place.
9. Support and participate in vendor technical clarification meetings.
10. Undertake Stellar Energy Americas manufacturing facility supervision work or site supervision work when required.
11. Provide technical assistance to project teams, Project Managers and Design Project Managers as required (e.g. subcontract evaluation, scope definition, design layout and detail RFIs etc.).
12. Interface daily with other disciplines.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
Most work is performed in an office environment. Regular trips to the Manufacturing Facility for observation and support may be necessary which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory head protection.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Travel
Anticipated 15% travel for this position. Employee may be required to travel occasionally and locally to Manufacturing Facility using own vehicle, when necessary.
Required Education and Experience.
1. Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited University.
2. Minimum of two years of experience in power plant or Industrial Plant design or similar working experience.
3. Familiar with local and international codes and standards (AISC, ASCE, ISO, ICC), regulations and implementations.
4. Familiar with design procedures and cooperation with other disciplines.
5. Familiar with engineering deliverables and in-depth requirements at different stages of a project.
6. Knowledge of AutoCAD.
7. Knowledge of STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA computer software.
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited University.
2. Professional Engineer Registration.
3. Experience in structural steel engineering design.
4. Familiarity with structural steel construction practices - fabrication (cutting, squaring, aligning, welding, bolting, surface preparation), erection (rigging, lifting, fastening, leveling), finishing (painting).
