The Commercial Lender works in conjunction with the Regional CEO and Commercial Lenders to develop business focusing on loans, deposit and Treasury Services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify prospective clients and develop new business relationships with commercial clients
Examines, evaluates & recommends approval of commercial credits.
Identifies & analyzes markets to develop prospects for commercial banking.
Actively participates in business development & networking opportunities.
Interviews customers & prospects to request specified information for credit applications and Treasury Services opportunities.
Analyzes applicant’s financial status, credit, & property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan. Works with credit analyst for verification & recommendation.
Compiles loan package & facilitates negotiation of loan structure with applicant, including fees, loan repayment options, & other credit terms.
Presents credits to loan committee for approval.
Ensures loan agreements are complete & accurate according to policy.
Assures timely loan closing & funding activities.
Ability to actively manage client portfolio to include loan exception monitoring and credit quality.
Compliance with any and all BSA/AML/CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.
SECONDARY DUTIES
The position performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position is not responsible for the supervision of staff.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
8 years’ experience in banking relationship management role or related business lending experience; direct in-person contact preferred.
General knowledge of core business products and services including deposit and Treasury Services.
Strong understanding of credit products, credit application process, and potential outcomes.
Ability to build relationships with clients and internal partners and influence others without direct control.
Ability to consider and balance client needs and objectives with respect to associated challenges and risks.
Must possess strong written, credit analysis and verbal communication skills with individuals at all levels, internally and externally.
Proven track record of consistent loan and deposit production.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software.
