Job Title : - .Net Developer

Location : Harrisburg, PA - Local candidates only

Position Type : Hybrid, must attend occasional on-site meetings.

Contract Length : 4 months, with extension

Position Overview :

This role focuses on ensuring accessibility compliance and modernizing user interfaces across systems, while serving as a technical expert in responsive design and accessibility testing.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of full-stack development experience (.NET, SQL Server), proven expertise with accessibility tools and standards, and a strong background in modern UI / UX practices, with the ability to collaborate effectively on both technical implementation and user experience improvements.

Required Skills :

Demonstrated experience in the use of Accessibility tools used to identify areas of non-compliance
5 years of experience developing complex applications in an OO environment
5 years of experience developing complex applications in Visual Basic & C#
5 years of demonstrated experience in XML, CSS, HTML
5 years of demonstrated experience in SQL Server or comparable RDBMS
5 years of relevant experience with UI / UX tools in emerging front-end development frameworks
5 years of relevant experience with source code management tool
5 years of demonstrated experience in MS Office
3 years of experience with modern UI / UX tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD)
3 years of relevant experience with accessibility testing approaches and tools
3 years of relevant experience with issue tracking management tool

Preferred Skills :

3 years of relevant experience with contemporary user experience guidelines and, if applicable, tools.

W3C ATAG / UAAG knowledge

Demonstrated experience with workflow diagramming

Understanding of public safety and criminal justice concepts and precautions

Understanding of grants management concepts

Understanding of financial systems concepts

Exposure to Telerik .NET UI controls

Duties :

Ensure usability and accessibility compliance for developed and maintained systems, including Egrants, CIPP, JHELD, and others.

Act as a key contributor in designing and developing user interfaces for an upcoming Egrants project.

Evaluate applications for accessibility compliance (e.g., WCAG 2.1 AA), develop mitigation plans, and remediate identified issues.

Recommend and implement responsive designs, optimizing applications for mobile and tablet usage.

Collaborate with business and technical analysts to create prototypes and gather focus group feedback.

Prepare recommendations for modernizing legacy .NET webforms applications into MVC or other contemporary frameworks.

Assist the development team during product upgrades by :

Testing changes and documenting results using Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO).

Preparing and publishing product release notes.

Developing test plans for user acceptance testing.

Communicate status updates effectively to stakeholders.

Participate in team meetings to understand upcoming changes and provide UI / UX recommendations.

Maintain accurate time tracking for all work activities.

Establish and maintain mechanisms for users to report digital accessibility issues or concerns.
