Stellis Health is looking for a full-time Certified Coding Specialist to join our team.

Position Summary: The Certified Coding Specialist is responsible for reviewing both electronic and written documentation of clinical visits and assigning accurate diagnostic and procedural coding using ICD-10 and CPT-4 methodologies.
Essential Functions
- Reviews provider documentation and assign codes that support service rendered.
- Supports business office staff with claim denial appeals.
- Monitors payer coding requirements to ensure billing compliance.
- Serves as a point of contact for providers that have coding questions.
- Performs level of service audits on random providers as assigned by Business Office Manager.
- Responds to patient inquiries that pertain to coding questions/disputes.
- Keeps current on work queue assignments in EMR practice management system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of medical insurance claim process, provider billing, CPT and ICD-10 coding, and HIPAA
- Understanding of payer contracts and compliance regulations
- Strong investigative, information gathering, and problem-solving skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Basic medical terminology knowledge.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Experience with EMR systems and Microsoft Office
Requirements
- Associate’s degree and minimum of 5 years of coding experience
- Successful completion of a certified coding program (AAPC/AHIMA)
