What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials and Logistics Manager position at STEM Search Group?
What you'll do:
- Direct and coordinate planning, procurement, and distribution of materials and products to ensure alignment with company objectives and customer needs.
- Collaborate closely with the Production Manager to support manufacturing requirements and guarantee on-time delivery.
- Lead the Materials and Logistics team, supervising planning, scheduling, and warehouse personnel.
- Responsible for production schedules, overseeing material procurement, managing purchase orders, supplier contracts, etc.
- Develop and implement site-specific policies and operational procedures to enhance efficiency and maintain high-quality standards.
- Engage in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics and inventory management, fostering a proactive and collaborative approach to challenges.
- Provide training and development for the Materials department in collaboration with Human Resources, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Logistics, or related field of study.
- 3 years of managerial experience in supply chain, preferably within the automotive industry.
- 7 years of supply chain and logistics experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Proven leadership skills with a focus on transparency, accountability, and servant leadership principles.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly in relation to inventory management, supplier & customer relationships, etc.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also fostering collaboration across departments.
- Experienced in the applications of Lean principles such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
