Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. As the Assistant Controller, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficient internal controls. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to the company's financial success and growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Controller in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization.
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of financial close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline and improve financial reporting processes and systems.
  • Manage and supervise a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate and support the annual external audit process, ensuring timely provision of requested documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide insights to management through the analysis of key financial metrics and trends.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic decision-making.
  • Participate in special projects related to process improvements, system implementations, and other initiatives as needed.
  • Keep abreast of changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices, applying relevant updates to financial processes and reporting.
  • Support the Controller in maintaining relationships with banking partners, vendors, and other external stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with financial modeling tools is a plus. NetSuite Preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and precision in financial reporting.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant office software.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and experience working with auditors.
  • Adaptability and willingness to take on new responsibilities as the company evolves.
