Position Summary:
Provide clients with programming focused on enhancing personal and social skills.
Responsible for client case management and coordination.
Support client and assist in developing vocational skills and in obtaining goals.
Must be able to represent the organization to other stakeholders including employees,
families/guardians, outside agencies, and funding sources.
Ensure activities and operations are carried out in compliance with all regulatory agencies and with Step, Inc. mission, vision, goals, and policies.
Optimize client vocational, personal and social competency.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Designated Coordinator (40%) –Programming should include but is not limited to: improving and expanding knowledge of computer skills, reading, math and money skills, independent living skills, vocational issues, social interactions, internet navigation and accessing resources, email training, software training, and music/interactive recreational games. Standards are developed to measure effectiveness of training. Ensure that programming is in compliance with all governing bodies including federal, state and county rules and regulations including DHS-245D, CARF and DOL.
2. PRODUCTION (10%) – Assess task analysis and set jobs up to meet required specifications. Supervise client production to ensure all tasks are being completed properly. Maintain quality standards for production.
3. CLIENT SUPERVISION AND DEVELOPMENT (15%) – Initiate, develop, and implement alternative programming for the clients as requested. Expand client work skills by developing resource matrix. Provide individual support to clients in the areas of vocational counseling, job training, behavior management, social, and independent living skills. Advocate for clients as necessary to accomplish their vocational goals.
4. COMMUNICATION AND TEAM PARTICIPATION (15%) – Effectively communicate in a timely and professional manner with staff, clients, families/guardians, outside agencies, and funding sources.
Communicate in a manner that protects and ensures client confidentiality. Attendance and participation at all assigned meetings. Support team decisions. Seek out supervisor with concerns.
5. ADMINISTRATION (20%) – Accurate and timely submission of clients’ timecards. Maintain
accurate and current programing records. Review schedules and emails on a daily basis to
ensure knowledge of changes and new assignments. Provide objective assessment of work
progress on a regular basis for each client. Complete required paperwork in a timely and
accurate manner.
Attend departmental meetings and other necessary meetings as required.

Familiarity on policies of 245D responding to and reporting incidents and following all safety practices and with Step, Inc. mission, vision, and goals. Maintain purposeful outcome planning data annually.
MUST HAVE:
The designated coordinator must minimally have:
(1) a baccalaureate degree in a field related to human services, and one year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older;
(2) an associate degree in a field related to human services, and two years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older;
(3) a diploma in a field related to human services from an accredited postsecondary institution and three years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; or
(4) a minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to human services and disabilities; and
(5) four years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older under the supervision of a staff person who meets the qualifications identified in clauses (1) to (3).
