What are the responsibilities and job description for the Annual Giving Coordinator position at Stephen F. Austin University?
This is a supervisory position responsible for coordinating and implementing annual fund projects and solicitations including but not limited to phone, mail, online, and events. Responsible for supervising subordinate staff. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Associate Vice President of Development.
Essential Job Functions
1. Develops and oversees the implementation of annual fund projects, programs, and initiatives to ensure departmental goals and objectives are met.
2. Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises student staff for all annual fund related fundraising initiatives, including those involving telemarketing, internet-based, and crowdfunding programs.
3. Supervises subordinate staff, including managing schedules and evaluating performance.
4. Develops and assesses annual fund projects and program plans for each fiscal year.
5. Develops and executes required number of direct mail projects.
6. Develops and executes online solicitation projects.
7. Plans, coordinates, and executes annual giving events.
8. Compiles various regular, special, and ad hoc reports related to annual fund project and program activities.
9. Extracts, queries, and compiles alumni data from university database(s) for solicitation purposes.
10. Assists in performing research on prospective donors and analyzing their giving potential.
11. Receives and supervises the receipt of private funds from individuals, organizations, and others for university, college, and departmental discretionary accounts.
12. Collaborates with the leadership of each academic college to ensure fundraising goals and objectives are met.
13. Partners with colleagues throughout the division of University Advancement in the completion of fundraising initiatives and projects.
14. Manages and oversees the university student philanthropy organization.

Bachelor’s degree in management, marketing, communication, or a related field is required. Related experience may be substituted for required education on a basis set forth by the Department of Human Resources.
Required Experience and Training
Two years of related experience is required. Experience in sales, marketing, or a related field is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in fundraising or telemarketing is preferred. Supervisory experience is preferred.

This is an IT-sensitive position subject to the Computer and Network Security policy.
This position is eligible for participation in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) retirement plan, subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
