What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Vice President - Enrollment Management (Temporary) position at Stephen F. Austin University?
This is an executive position responsible for leading and developing data-informed recruitment and retention initiatives. Provides strategic oversight of enrollment management operations. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Senior Vice President for Enrollment and Student Engagement.
Essential Job Functions
1. Collaborates with senior leadership to develop and implement comprehensive enrollment strategies aligned with the university’s mission and goals.
2. Leads the development and execution of data-informed recruitment and retention initiatives from conception to implementation.
3. Manages budget resources effectively to support enrollment goals.
4. Develops and tracks key performance indicators for enrollment management.
5. Works closely with campus stakeholders to maintain strong relationships by partnering with Student Engagement to enhance student success initiatives and academic deans and department heads to align enrollment strategies with academic programs.
6. Directs market research efforts to identify enrollment opportunities and challenges.
7. Monitors and analyzes competitor institutions and market trends to produce informed recruitment strategies.
8. Evaluates demographic trends and their impact on enrollment patterns and provides enrollment analytics and metrics as requested.
9. Develops data-driven recommendations for program development and market positioning.
10. Directs special projects related to enrollment growth and student success.
11. Coordinates with University Marketing Communications to develop effective recruitment materials and campaigns.
12. Fosters a culture of excellence and innovation within the enrollment management team, evaluates staff performance, and implements improvement strategies as needed.
13. Provides mentorship and professional development opportunities for enrollment management staff to ensure proficiency in enrollment management best practices.
14. Builds and maintains high-performing teams across enrollment management operations.
15. Collaborates with Information Technology Services to optimize enrollment management systems and oversees the development and maintenance of enrollment management technology systems.

Physical Demands Required Education
Master’s degree in higher education administration, business administration, or a related field is required.
Required Experience and Training
Eight years of progressive experience in higher education enrollment management is required. Experience in strategic planning and implementation is required. Experience with analytics and data interpretation is required. Demonstrated successful management and leadership experience is required. Experience with project management is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in higher education administration or a related field is preferred. Experience with CRM systems and enrollment management technology is preferred. Experience in predictive analytics and enrollment modeling is preferred. Experience with strategic financial aid leveraging is preferred. Experience in Texas higher education is preferred.

This is an IT-sensitive position subject to the Computer and Network Security policy.
This position is eligible for participation in the Optional Retirement Program (ORP), subject to the position being full-time and at least 4 ½ months in length, or the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) retirement plan, subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
