What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graduate Administrative Assistant (Library-Evening Supervisor) position at Stephen F. Austin University?
This is a student position responsible for assisting staff with administrative duties, in this case providing leadership and supervision for assigned undergraduate student workers at the Library Services desk in the evening. Reports to the Head of Public Services.
Job Duties
1. Oversees Library Service Desk operations and activities, including but not limited to providing assistance with checking in and checking out materials, retrieving materials from the collection, handling study room reservations, answering phone calls, directing visitors to appropriate library services, and closing the 2nd-4th floors and Library Services Desk at scheduled times.
2. Supervises assigned undergraduate student workers and provides performance feedback to the Head of Public Services.
3. Performs other related duties as assigned.

The minimum education required for admittance as a graduate student at Stephen F. Austin State University. The recommendation of a faculty member may be required.
No direct experience is required. Training and instruction will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with general library use is helpful.
Experience in supervising student workers is preferred.
Physical Demands Special Conditions for Eligibility

A student must have clear or provisional admission to the graduate school and the academic unit, be in good academic standing, and be enrolled in six or more credit hours of graduate courses to be eligible for a graduate assistantship during the fall or spring semesters. To be eligible for a graduate assistantship during the summer, a student must be enrolled in three or more credit hours of graduate courses.
