POSITION SUMMARY:

Contributes to the organization by overseeing front desk tasks and assisting with patient care. This position will assist patients in-person and over-the-phone with checking-in and out, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, processing payments, handling copays, perform basic tasks while providing exemplary customer service.

  • Greet all patients and guests with compassion and respect.
  • Communicate effectively with others including, but not limited to patients, guests, colleagues and physicians.
  • Respond to patient's telephone inquiries in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Triage incoming calls promptly.
  • Provide patients with necessary instructions or directions.
  • Verify insurance and determine if prior authorizations or referrals are required for upcoming appointments.
  • Process patient documentation and update patient demographics with accuracy.
  • Close-out daily batches promptly and with accuracy.
  • Schedules follow-up appointments and verifies appointment times with patients.
  • Provide patient(s) with an explanation of insurance benefits as needed.
  • Record and maintain patient records / files in compliance with company, federal, and state policies (HIPAA)
  • Maintain a clean and organized waiting room and work area.
  • Must meet and adhere to office policies and procedures, uphold the highest ethical principles and patient confidentiality. Complies with all State and Federal regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned based on business operational needs.

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
