Responsibilities for Lead Teacher (4-5 Year Olds)
- Provide a safe and loving environment for the children in his/her care
- Create lesson plans
- Provided a structured and supportive environment for learning and developing new skills
- Creating and following daily schedules
- Supervision of play and social time
- Supervision of meal and snack times
- Put children down for rest time
- Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are kept clean
Qualifications for Daycare Teacher
- At least 18 years of age ·
- High school diploma or GED
- Possess certificate from The Registry, verifying training requirements have been met.
- CPR/AED Training
- 320 hours of experience as an assistant child care teacher in a licensed child care center or other approved EC setting.
- Abusive Head Trauma Prevention Training
- Mandated Reporter Training
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Reliable transportation to the Child Care center
- Great customer service skills to communicate effectively with parents
One of the following:
- Two courses for credit in early childhood education or its equivalent from an institution of higher education.
- Two non-credit department-approved courses in early childhood education.
- One course for credit in early childhood education and one non-credit department-approved course in early childhood education.
- Certificate from The Registry indicating that the person is qualified as a child care teacher.
- A Wisconsin Preschool Credential.
- A Wisconsin Infant-Toddler Credential.
- Forty-eight credits from an institution of higher education with at least 3 credits in early childhood education or its equivalent.
- A one-year child care diploma in child care or early childhood education from an institution of higher education.
- An associate degree in early childhood education or child care from an institution of higher education.
- A Child Development Associate credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition.
- A certificate from the department of workforce development, bureau of apprenticeship standards, as a child development specialist.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
