Responsibilities for Lead Teacher (4-5 Year Olds)

• Provide a safe and loving environment for the children in his/her care
• Create lesson plans
• Provided a structured and supportive environment for learning and developing new skills
• Creating and following daily schedules
• Supervision of play and social time
• Supervision of meal and snack times
• Put children down for rest time
• Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are kept clean

Qualifications for Daycare Teacher

• At least 18 years of age ·
• High school diploma or GED
• Possess certificate from The Registry, verifying training requirements have been met.
• CPR/AED Training
• 320 hours of experience as an assistant child care teacher in a licensed child care center or other approved EC setting.
• Abusive Head Trauma Prevention Training
• Mandated Reporter Training
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Reliable transportation to the Child Care center
• Great customer service skills to communicate effectively with parents

One of the following:

• Two courses for credit in early childhood education or its equivalent from an institution of higher education.
• Two non-credit department-approved courses in early childhood education.
• One course for credit in early childhood education and one non-credit department-approved course in early childhood education.
• Certificate from The Registry indicating that the person is qualified as a child care teacher.
• A Wisconsin Preschool Credential.
• A Wisconsin Infant-Toddler Credential.
• Forty-eight credits from an institution of higher education with at least 3 credits in early childhood education or its equivalent.
• A one-year child care diploma in child care or early childhood education from an institution of higher education.
• An associate degree in early childhood education or child care from an institution of higher education.
• A Child Development Associate credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition.
• A certificate from the department of workforce development, bureau of apprenticeship standards, as a child development specialist.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
