The Le Meridien Sheraton Charlotte Hotel is currently seeking individuals for the positions of General Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our StepStone Hospitality managed hotel. As our Maintenance Engineer 2, you will maintain the hotel's assets through ongoing preventative maintenance programs and ensures that all mechanical systems are operating in accordance with the hotel's and StepStone Hospitality's standards. You will promote quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction. Scheduled hours will vary weekly between Monday-Sunday. Weekdays, weekends, and holidays are required.

This role will be a second shift range is between 3pm and 11pm

An Engineer II role in a hotel usually involves more advanced technical responsibilities, including assisting in leading the engineering team, handling complex repairs, and coordinating maintenance projects.

The responsibilities of the General Maintenance Engineer 2 include but are not limited to:

• Perform and oversee advanced repairs and maintenance on all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical.
• Support the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and hotel facilities to reduce downtime and ensure guest comfort.
• Address complex work orders promptly and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction and resolution of any outstanding issues.
• Assist with coordination and supervision of external contractors and vendors during larger repair projects or specialized work.
• Perform inspections to ensure public areas, guest rooms, and back-of-house spaces meet safety and operational standards.
• Provide guidance and training to Engineer I staff, helping them develop technical skills and adhere to safety protocols.
• Replace air conditioner filters.
• Tend furnace, air conditioner, and boiler to provide heat, cool air, and hot water for guests.
• Maintain standards of quality guest service.
• Tend to pool area including chemical balancing, cleaning, etc.
• Increase level of guest satisfaction by delivery of an exceptional product through employee development.
  
  

Respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.

Engineer 2 pay is $22/ hour

Requirements

• Minimum lifting of 70 pounds.
• Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity.
• Hearing, writing, typing.
• Minimum pulling of 70 pounds.
• Other duties may be assigned.
