Power Generation and Heavy Industry Markets

Commercial and Institutional Markets:
In addition to the Power Generation and Heavy Industrial markets, Sterling Industrial provides new construction and maintenance services for the Building Construction and Institutional market sectors. We have performed new construction work for pre-engineered buildings, concrete foundations, structural and ornamental installation, plumbing, electrical, and architectural finish work on commercial/institutional applications such as offices, banks, stores/malls, schools, churches, and warehouses. Additionally, we provide maintenance and repair services for the same type of facilities. Skilled craftsmen are employed in providing these services including carpenters (form and finish), laborers, cement finishers, ironworkers, plumbers, and electricians.
Required Skills
The Materials Operations Specialist plays a vital role in supporting warehouse and logistics functions for our industrial construction projects. This position is ideal for a hands-on individual with a strong work ethic and a desire to grow within the company. Working under the guidance of the Warehouse Supervisor and Operations Team, the associate will be responsible for receiving, organizing, and dispatching materials and equipment critical to field operations.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and organize materials, tooling and equipment.
- Load/unload deliveries safely using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Track inventory and assist with cycle counts and stock control.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized workspaces in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
- Learn and assist with the material and equipment dispatch process in collaboration with warehouse supervision and under the guidance of experienced team members. Support timely and accurate delivery of materials to field teams while developing a strong understanding of logistics coordination.
- Assist with tooling maintenance and help identify operational issues related to tools, equipment staging, or warehouse workflow. Flag issues and support upkeep in daily operations.
- Collaborate with the warehouse and operations teams to streamline logistics and workflow.
- Participate in training opportunities and demonstrate initiative to learn new skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 years of warehouse, construction, or logistics experience preferred.
- Forklift certification a plus (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Able to lift 50 lbs regularly and work in varying environmental conditions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude with a team-first mindset and a desire to grow professionally.
