Job Summary:
- The Lab Coordinator works closely with Chemists, Lab Technicians, Procurement, Warehouse, and Local/Corporate Compliance departments. This role involves monitoring the use of lab supplies, conducting physical inventories, and ordering office supplies, chemicals/reagents, gas cylinders, and other consumables.
- The Lab Coordinator is Hazmat trained and prepares shipping paperwork for lab samples. They are responsible for various job functions related to EPA-regulated requirements for gasoline and diesel, with a comprehensive understanding of EPA-monitored testing for these products.
- Monitor usage of lab supplies and handle order requests from 20-25 chemists. Conduct bi-monthly inventory of all lab supplies and consumables, place orders via SAP, and coordinate with warehouse personnel on deliveries and ETA tracking. Document receipt of supplies and recommend alternate approved suppliers in the event of delivery delays.
- Review gasoline (2 grades) and diesel batch packets for accuracy and completeness, identifying and documenting errors or discrepancies. Collaborate with Chemists, Refinery Operations, and Local/Corporate Compliance to resolve issues.
- Maintain binders for EPA-required record keeping (gasoline/diesel) in accordance with the Record Retention Program.
- Provide selected gasoline batch information to Corporate for the annual EPA attest process.
- Complete Hazmat training (49 CFR Hazardous Materials & ICAO/IATA Shipping Dangerous Goods). Training is required every 2 years. Use FedEx Ship Manager System Software to create shipping paperwork and labels for refinery samples. Support Engineers and Unit Supervisors on shipping requirements and maintain documentation per the Records Retention Program.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and SharePoint.
- Hazmat training for shipping paperwork.
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma required.
