About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Lead to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive technical solutions.
The role involves overseeing technical aspects of projects, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining high-quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring and developing the engineering team through formal training and professional development initiatives.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement technical processes and procedures.
Lead technical teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Provide leadership in technical problem-solving and engineering decision-making.
Develop, manage, and update project KPIs, including maintaining performance tracking tools.
Conduct technical risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Oversee technical resource planning and scheduling, integrating inputs into production systems.
Ensure projects are completed within or below estimated targets.
Support and uphold quality management systems.
Mentor and develop the engineering team through formal training and professional development initiatives.
Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams throughout all project phases.
Travel domestically and internationally as needed for site visits and vendor assessments.
Work with vendors to enhance product quality, improve delivery, and drive cost reductions.
Apply Lean tools to facilitate product and process improvements.
Foster leadership development and succession planning within the engineering team.
Develop and execute department strategic plans and annual budgets.
Track and analyze department performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Support manufacturing engineering initiatives, including capital improvement projects.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
Experience in engineering in a heavy equipment environment is essential.
Excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving skills are required.
Able to drive creative and unique engineering solutions.
Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
Must maintain a valid passport for international travel.
