Job Summary:
- We are seeking a hands-on Shipping & Receiving Manager to lead and execute daily logistics operations in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment. This individual will be directly involved in crating and preparing parts for shipment, while also overseeing the flow of incoming and outgoing parts, materials, and equipment. This is a working manager role, perfect for someone who thrives in a job shop or machine shop setting.
- Lead and manage a team of 2 in all shipping & receiving activities.
- Actively participate in the hands-on crating, packing, and preparation of parts and equipment for shipment.
- Oversee incoming and outgoing deliveries to ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and timely processing.
- Use FedEx, UPS, and other shipping software to track and manage packages and freight.
- Maintain inventory and order tracking through an ERP system (Microsoft Navision or similar—training provided).
- Coordinate with internal teams (production, quality, purchasing) to ensure smooth material flow.
- Monitor and manage shipping supplies, freight logistics, and carrier relationships.
- Uphold safety, cleanliness, and organization in the shipping/receiving area.
- Proven hands-on experience in shipping & receiving within a manufacturing or job shop environment.
- Familiarity with crating, packaging, and handling of industrial or machined parts.
- Proficient in FedEx, UPS, or other shipping/tracking platforms.
- Experience using ERP systems (Microsoft NAV, Dynamics, or similar preferred—training provided).
- Comfortable leading a small team and setting the pace for day-to-day operations.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
