What are the responsibilities and job description for the H135‐T3 Technician position at Sterling Helicopter?
Highly self-motivated H135-T3 technicians are sought to provide on-site maintenance and operational support at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining three Airbus H135-T3 Aircraft.
The technician will perform all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft line maintenance and functional checks as required by manuals and instructions. This includes activities such as:
- Aircraft Maintenance Manual;
- Aircraft Operations Management Manual;
- Component Maintenance Manual;
- Airbus Helicopters Service Letters;
- Airbus Helicopters Service Bulletins;
- Airbus Helicopters Alert Service Bulletin;
- Safran engine service manuals and bulletins;
- Corrosion and Erosion Control Guide;
- FAA Federal Aviation Regulations;
- NASA and Kennedy Space Center manuals.
Maintenance tasks will include:
- Maintaining hangar and ground support equipment;
- Flying onboard missions piloted by AHI and/or government personnel;
- Placing spares orders with AHI and other vendors in a timely manner;
- Ensuring the Aircraft are mission-ready;
- Performing day-to-day scheduled and unscheduled emergency flight operations;
- Diagnostic checks and preventative maintenance to ensure airworthiness and availability of the Aircraft;
- Supporting Sterling's accounting department with invoice preparation and submission;
- Installing, setting up, and checking helicopter-mounted night vision equipment;
- Calibrating and certifying ground support equipment according to the Airbus calibration plan;
- Documenting removal of unserviceable AGE from use;
- Providing recommendations for standard and special tooling and ground support equipment;
- Properly utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) pursuant to instructions;
- Tracking and maintaining PPE calibration records;
- Identifying and requesting additional tools and equipment needed to maintain the Aircraft;
- Adhering to calibration plans for tools and equipment used in maintenance operations;
- Maintaining records of maintenance, inspection, and alterations in accordance with FAA/Repair Station standards;
- Completing training programs instructed by Sterling.
Required Qualifications:
- Current FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license;
- Current FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) certificate or willingness to obtain IA certification;
- 5 years prior experience - H135 experience preferred;
- Living within 60 miles of KSC and ability to reliably commute.
