Create and Manage 3D models using VDC / BIM technologies on new and existing projects for estimating and constructability reviews.
Position Description
VDC / BIM Engineers responsibilities and abilities include but are not limited to the list below.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D (Specifically surfaces, alignments, assemblies, corridors, etc.)
- Proficient with Autodesk AEC Suite.
- Understand the means and methods of construction of underground utilities, industrial / water / wastewater piping, earthwork, and concrete structures and use that knowledge to guide the development of BIM models and surface models.
- Assist in the coordination of models both internally and externally.
- Review BIM models and provide constructability and construction sequence feedback.
- Model underground utilities and MEP systems.
- Model concrete building for lift drawings, rebar shop drawings, and concrete formwork.
- Perform takeoffs from the model to assist pre-construction and field teams.
- Periodically travel to project sites to coordinate with on-site project staff and maintain familiarity with project site conditions.
- Work with VDC Lead.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed.
- Maintain working knowledge of all programs and platforms required for the role. Experience with creating and maintaining object library.
- Willingness to learn company design methods procedures and take directions.
