Position Overview :
Sterling Medical is seeking a highly skilled Chief Therapeutic Medical Physicist (full-time) and Medical Physicist (20 hours per week) to join our team at the Long Beach VAMC in Long Beach, CA. The Chief Therapeutic Medical Physicist will oversee the operations of the medical physics department, while the Medical Physicist will assist in providing radiation therapy services, including quality assurance and treatment planning. The Medical Physicist position is part-time (20 hours per week), offering flexibility in scheduling.
Responsibilities :
- Chief Therapeutic Medical Physicist (Full-Time) :
- Oversee the safe and effective use of Varian Linear Accelerators, including TrueBeam with Brain Lab Accessories.
- Perform quality assurance (QA) procedures for radiation therapy equipment.
- Conduct Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) with Cone Beam CT and treatment planning systems such as Eclipse and ARIA.
- Manage machine testing and calibrations, which may involve after-hours work.
- Collaborate with oncologists and radiation therapists to ensure optimal patient care and treatment outcomes.
- Medical Physicist (20 Hours per Week) :
- Assist in quality assurance (QA) procedures for radiation therapy equipment.
- Collaborate with Chief Therapeutic Medical Physicist in managing Varian Linear Accelerators, TrueBeam with Brain Lab Accessories, and treatment planning systems.
- Provide support in Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) with Cone Beam CT.
