Job knowledge, Skills, and Role responsibilities:
Sterling Place is a Long-term Care Skilled Nursing Facility seeking an Admissions Coordinator. Qualified applicants must possess skills to work in a fast pace environment. Must be able to multi-task. Long-term care experience is preferred. This position is primarily Monday through Friday, but extended hours may occur occasionally as needed.
- Demonstrates responsibility for verbal or written inquiries for information regarding skilled nursing facility placement.
- Thoroughly reviews and processes referrals at the time of consideration/acceptance for placement by central intake team.
- Conducts preadmission inquiry interviews via telephone, appointment, or walk-in. Provides a tour of skilled nursing facility.
- Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing, possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
- Demonstrates excellent customer services and listening skills to understand customer needs.
- Ensures that all aspects of the admissions process are completed in an efficient and courteous manner(i.e., verifies insurance benefits, obtain insurance authorization, facility tour, and completion/signing of admission packet for admit to facility).
- Distributes proper documentation to all necessary departments prior to resident's admit to facility.
- Works as team player with other staff to facilitate the smooth operation of the Admission Department.
- Participates in in-service educational activities and department meetings.
