Description
We are looking for a full-time DME / Casting Technician to join our top notch team of professionals at Sterling Ridge Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.
This position would have to open to traveling to all three offices as needed : Woodlands, Spring and Montgomery.
We are looking specifically for Ortho Casting Experience
JOB SUMMARY :
The DME / Casting Technician is responsible for the intake of requests and application for casting, splints and dispensing DME items per the physician's orders. Ensures processes are in place to support an exceptional patient experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
Provides patient orientation and instructions on the proper use of equipment when applicable.
Readily available and accessible to respond to provider's prescription and manufacturer's specifications for DME fittings for the maximum benefit of the patient
Cast and splint for patients per physician's orders. Carefully remove casts and splints accordingly.
Completes paperwork promptly and accurately.
Has a thorough working knowledge of DME product library.
Validates ICD-10 codes as appropriate for the product(s) dispensed
Assists with completing all appropriate paperwork regarding billing, accounts receivable, ABN forms, receipts, credits, invoices, super bills, and merchandise for DME products.
Compliant with HIPAA, OSHA, and company policies and regulations.
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED certificate.
NBCOT Certification or Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) - required
CPR certified
1 years' experience working in a clinical, casting environment.
Experience in orthopedics preferred
Able to work independently with little direct supervision.
