Job Summary
As a PCU RN, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and intermediate-level care. You will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage complex medical conditions and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, addressing changes promptly.
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform advanced nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation using electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Comply with infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe care environment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and workflow efficiency.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit, Telemetry, or similar acute care setting.
- Strong understanding of cardiac monitoring and advanced patient care techniques.
Requirements
- Active NM RN license or compact state RN license.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Traveler must provide or pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia Assessment (BCA) exam prior to or during first week of assignment. Travelers that do not pass the BCA test will be dismissed.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
