About the Role
We are seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week contract in a CVICU Unit in Omaha, NE, 68124 . This position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide essential patient care in a behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities
✔ CVICU nurses monitor patients’ vital signs continuously, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and respiratory rate, often using advanced monitoring systems.
✔ They perform regular assessments to identify any changes in the patient’s condition. This may include listening to heart sounds, checking for arrhythmias, and assessing the patient's response to medications or interventions.
✔Nurses in the CVICU are trained to interpret ECGs (electrocardiograms) to detect arrhythmias, ischemia, or other heart-related issues.
✔ CVICU nurses administer medications related to heart function, such as anticoagulants, antiarrhythmic drugs, inotropes, and vasopressors. These drugs must be administered with precision, as they directly affect the patient's heart function.
✔ urses often titrate medications (adjusting the dose based on patient response) to maintain optimal heart function, such as in cases of heart failure or low blood pressure.
Qualifications Required:
✅ Active and unrestricted NE RN License.
✅ Minimum of 2 years of RN experience (CVICU experience preferred).
✅ Current BLS certification.
