Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care & Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments, monitor vital signs, and implement patient care plans for post-operative cardiac patients.
- Administer Medications: Safely manage medications and IV therapies, closely monitoring for side effects and patient responses.
- Collaborate with the Care Team: Work alongside doctors, fellow nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Support Patients & Families: Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families during critical times.
- Documentation & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records to facilitate effective communication among the care team.
- Discharge Planning: Assist with patient transitions from hospital to home, ensuring they have the resources needed for continued recovery.
Qualifications:
- CVICU or critical care experience preferred; a passion for patient care is essential!
- Strong communication skills—bonus points for bringing positivity to the unit!
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
