Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled RN ER in Carrington, ND, 58421 for 13 week contract . The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in critical situations, ensuring their safety and comfort while delivering timely medical interventions. This role requires a strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients presenting to the Emergency Room based on severity of condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including injections and intravenous therapies.
- Perform essential procedures such as spinal taps and assist with diagnostic tests, including CT scans.
- Monitor patient vitals and respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems like Epic.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and post-discharge care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and infection control protocols.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of acute care nursing principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly Epic.
- Experience in pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) settings is a plus.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures relevant to emergency care.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting patients safely.
- Solid understanding of human physiology to assess patient conditions effectively.
- Experience administering injections safely and accurately.
- Background in nursing home settings can be beneficial for understanding diverse patient needs.
