About the Role
We are seeking an experienced RN Nurse Manager for the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) / Family Birth Center (FBC) unit for a 13-week contract in Grass Valley, CA. This leadership role requires overseeing patient care, staffing, and operational efficiency within the LDRP/FBC department while ensuring the highest standards of maternal and neonatal care.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Provide leadership and supervision for the LDRP/FBC nursing team.
✔ Ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care in labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
✔ Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures in alignment with hospital guidelines.
✔ Oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
✔ Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and hospital protocols.
✔ Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
✔ Handle patient concerns, quality improvement initiatives, and risk management.
Required Certifications & Qualifications
✅ Active California RN License.
✅ Minimum of 2 years of LDRP, FBC, or Maternal-Newborn leadership experience.
✅ BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required.
✅ ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) & Adv-AWHONN - Preferred but not required.
✅ STABLE (Neonatal Stabilization Program) - Preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
✔ Previous Nurse Manager or Leadership experience in L&D, Mother-Baby, or NICU.
✔ Strong communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
✔ Experience with budgeting, staffing, and departmental strategic planning.
