Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Automotive Service Manager to oversee our service department and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a proven track record in automotive repair and service management. You will be responsible for managing service technicians, handling customer inquiries, and ensuring efficient operations within the dealership.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of service technicians to ensure timely and quality vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Oversee daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and inventory control.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain financial records related to service operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and upselling services as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to assess maintenance needs and recommend appropriate services.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive technologies, trends, and best practices in the industry.
- Assist with tire services, air brake systems, and other specialized automotive repairs as required.
- Perform auto estimating for repair costs to provide accurate quotes to customers.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dealership or automotive service environment is preferred.
- Strong background as a service technician with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Excellent cash handling skills with attention to detail in financial transactions.
- Ability to effectively upsell services based on customer needs and vehicle condition.
- Knowledge of tire service procedures and air brake systems is a plus.
- Proficient in auto estimating practices for accurate pricing of repairs.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
