Shop Support and Waterjet Operator

The Shop Support and Waterjet Operator at SDC is a detail-oriented individual that is reliable and hard-working and will assist in day-to-day operations in our shop. This individual will set up and operate the Waterjet Cutting Center and our in-house Laser Marker to mark part numbers and SDC logo on all custom manufactured parts.

What You’ll Do:

• Set-up and operate Waterjet Cutting Center.
• Set-up and operate in-house Laser Marker, marking part numbers & SDC logo on all custom manufactured parts.
• Operate manual knee mills, lathes and grinders as needed.
• Responsible for maintaining machine shop cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep, sweeping/cleaning floors, and organizing materials.
• Responsible for maintaining company and plant equipment including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
• Assist manufacturing in preparing and finishing stock material and custom parts including saw cutting and basic machining operations.
• Maintains a safe and clean workspace.

What We’re Looking For:

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, industry standards and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to support overtime, as needed.
